Effects on PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen)- PSA levels are decreased by approximately 50% by 12 months of use of Finax. These findings should be taken into account for proper interpretation of serum PSA when evaluating men treated with finasteride. Any confirmed increase from the lowest PSA value while on Finax may signal the presence of prostate cancer and should be evaluated, even if PSA levels are still within the normal range.
5α-reductase inhibitors may increase the risk of development of high-grade prostate cancer.
Overdosage:
No specific treatment for overdose is recommended. In clinical studies, single oral dose of finasteride upto 400mg and multiple doses upto 80mg/day for 3 months did not result in adverse reactions.
Drug interactions:
No clinically meaningful drug-drug interactions was observed while taking finasteride
PRACTICAL TIPS on FINAX USE
The sooner the medicine is started in patterned hair loss, the better the result.
Works on top and crown area, but hairline and FT angles show poor response.
Once the desired results are seen, dose can be reduced to thrice or twice a week to maintain the result.
If the medicine is stopped, the effects are slowly reversed over 12 months.
If you note any sexual side effects, stop medicine and consult your doctor.
For married males, it is recommended to stop the medicine 3 months prior to planning conception.
